It did not last.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the story of an embrace that holds — God crossing every divide to reach humanity, arms open on a cross, pulling together what conflict, pride, rationalism, witchcraft, and war had torn apart.

Bergara’s history is not a tragedy waiting for a solution. It is a story waiting for its Author to write the final chapter. A shepherd’s startled cry in the mountain thorns. A cannonball that shattered a soldier into a saint. A laboratory where God’s hidden creation was unveiled. Two generals’ arms around each other on a hillside. A stone apostle, empty, waiting to be filled.

Every image already points in the same direction. Every wound is already the shape of a doorway.
